"Mr. David Mitchell, 66, of Greensboro, unexpectedly departed from this life on Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
A memorial service, celebrating his life, will be held at a later date, which will be announced in next Sunday's (March 28th) edition of the Greensboro News and Record.
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to the late Riley Franklin Mitchell and Adeline Koller Mitchell, David was a professor at UNCG. He was dearly loved by his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, step-father, and grandfather, who will also be greatly missed by his many good friends and students at UNCG.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 16 years, Ann, of the home; her sons, Dan and Matthew Benner; daughter, Becky Dezern and her husband Ed; grandchildren, Shae, Kayla, Mariah, Chris, Brenna, Alina, and Tara; sisters, Donna Warrington and her husband Tom and Jan Gunderson and her husband Roger; nephews, Hans Doores and Jason Gunderson; aunt Eunice Mitchell; cousins Charlotte Mitchell Smith and Tom Mitchell; sister-in-law Susan Yoakum and her family; and his former wife, Sandra Mitchell.
Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel has the honor of assisting the Mitchell family with arrangements.
